Gursewak

By stage-nanhijaan

Unfortunately, Gursewak, the second child adopted by our Project expired on November 23rd, 2012  because of severe sepsis and renal failure. Immediate cause of death was massive pulmonary haemorrhage. Nanhi Jaan Project thanks everyone (and especially the P.G.I. doctors who worked tirelessly to make Gursewak better) for the support and encouragement and donations. Our heartfelt condolences go to the bereaved family. The loss of a child is the worst trauma for any parent. Our prayers go out for the family. However, let this setback not deter us from our mandate… that is to help the underprivileged children. Let this incidence make our resolve stronger. Nanhi Jaan forever!

On January 27, 2012, Dr Sunit Sanghi, HOD Paediatrics, PGIMER, Chandigarh, inaugurated the Ventilator donated by Nanhi Jaan. This 11-lakh ventilator will go a long way in helping to save lives of many critically ill children. A 1000-book children’s library was also donated for the benefit of children admitted in the ICU of the Paediatrics ward. The play area has also been equipped with a 42-inch Plasma TV and a DVD player. Volunteers from Nanhi Jaan will be visiting the play area everyday from 2 pm to 4pm to spend time with the children, hold story-telling sessions as also provide education to the children  from poor families. Nanhi Jaan strives to provide critically important machines to hospitals in the city in an effort to save precious lives.
