By stage-nanhijaan

We celebrated Children’s Day with the students of Ghazipur Village Govt Primary School on 13 November 2018. The newly renovated and equipped Library room was also inaugurated. Children of Class 3 and 4 presented a street play, recited poems in English (this was the first time two kids recited poems in English), and gave a song and dance performance. This was followed by the visit of the Doreman cartoon character, who distributed gifts to the kids and interacted with them. Earlier last month, we had provided for a fresh paint in all the classrooms which were in really bad condition.

Rs 15,000, collected from the Donation box kept at Omni Hospital, was used to provide a fresh coat of paint to the classrooms of Govt Primary School in Ghazipur, near Chandigarh.  The children studying in the school, all aged between 6-12, were suffering from repeated allergies and infections due to the depleted condition of the classrooms.  Earlier, on 28 September 2018, we handed over note-books, drawing books, crayons and story books for the school library. This activity was undertaken under our Sikhya programme. Below is the picture of newly painted classroom:

How boring and traumatic is it for a child to be in hospital, confined to the bed with jabs and tests all day long. To bring joy to these children Nanhi Jaan has made an endeavour by launching its Mobile Library Project at APC PGI. Volunteers go around to wards issuing story books to admitted children free of cost. The smiles show that it certainly makes a difference.

Joy of Giving day

By stage-nanhijaan

On May 11, 2017, Team Nanhi Jaan celebrated Joy Of Giving Day. 19 schools from the region participated in the function. Differently-abled children and children from schools who support inclusive education pitched in to perform at a common platform much according to the motto of Nanhi Jaan, ‘Giving children the care they deserve’. It was a humbling and moving experience for most of the audience. These children some of those who were deprived of an important faculty taught us to remain strong and face the challenge in the most adverse circumstances with a smile on the face. God bless these wonderful children who have left an indelible mark on our minds.

Outreach programme

In October 2017, Team Nanhi Jaan visited Masol village as a part of our outreach program. It was a day filled with fun for children and satisfaction for the teams. We were joined in by nine students of MBA in Media and Communication from Symbiosis Pune who had come to Nanhi Jaan to intern.  Masol is a heritage village with lots of archeological remains, yet very neglected with no proper motor able road. We have promises to keep And miles before we go to sleep….
