PPE Coveralls, designed & produced at very cost-effective price

On April 28, 2020, we handed over second batch of Protective coveralls –  800 PPE coveralls and 400 coveralls for non-frontline workers – to PGIMER, GMCH-32 and Sector 16. These coveralls were designed by us as per government guidelines and got approved by INMAS Delhi. We further got these produced at a very cost-effective rate.   In all the NGO has donated till now 2000 PPE Coveralls, 400 Reusable Coveralls, 700 Masks (3M 9004), 720 bottles (600 ml) of sanitizers, 5000 bottles (100 ml) of sanitizers, 440 Goggles, 10 Pulse Oximeters, 1100 Face-shields, inline suctions for ventilators, as also upgraded ICUs with devices at the the three hospitals.   Nanhi Jaan remains committed under its “Care for Care Givers” campaign to continue to provide Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for the medical fraternity working to provide care to COVID-19 patients.

Pulse Oximeters for GMCH-32

On August 14, 2019, we handed over three Pulse Oximeters to Pediatric Emergency ward of GMCH 32. The quality of care will improve tremendously with this donation. Thank you Anuj Sudeora and Shelly Piplani of Intellix Solutions LLC for making this happen.

Support to under-privileged children of Vikas Nagar school

We support 110 underprivileged children studying at Govt School Vikas Nagar. Nanhi Jaan is taking care of the school fees, books and examination fees of these children. On 11 September 2019, we handed over cheque of Rs 1,73,790 for school and CBSE exam fee of the 110 children. We also contributed in strengthening of the library of the school with 255 resource books for classes Primary to 10th.

Durries for Govt School

An article in The Tribune on 14th January brought out the ‘Chilling reality ‘ of how much remains to be done in the field of education. Nanhi Jaan team stepped into action and handed over 10 durries to the Govt School Vikas Nagar. Incidentally this is one of the schools where Nanhi Jaan is fostering 63 children.  

Children’s Day celebration at Ghazipur School

We celebrated Children’s Day with the students of Ghazipur Village Govt Primary School on 13 November 2018. The newly renovated and equipped Library room was also inaugurated. Children of Class 3 and 4 presented a street play, recited poems in English (this was the first time two kids recited poems in English), and gave a song and dance performance. This was followed by the visit of the Doreman cartoon character, who distributed gifts to the kids and interacted with them. Earlier last month, we had provided for a fresh paint in all the classrooms which were in really bad condition.

Painting work at Ghazipur School

Rs 15,000, collected from the Donation box kept at Omni Hospital, was used to provide a fresh coat of paint to the classrooms of Govt Primary School in Ghazipur, near Chandigarh.  The children studying in the school, all aged between 6-12, were suffering from repeated allergies and infections due to the depleted condition of the classrooms.  Earlier, on 28 September 2018, we handed over note-books, drawing books, crayons and story books for the school library. This activity was undertaken under our Sikhya programme. Below is the picture of newly painted classroom:

On April 30, 2018, we visited Vikas Nagar School to hand over the fee for 63 children of Class 9 & 10, who have been taken under our umbrella. Among the children being supported are: Kalpana, a standard 10 student, who won the first prize in the inter school declamation contest and Ankit, who is physically challenged.

Mobile Library Project at APC PGI

How boring and traumatic is it for a child to be in hospital, confined to the bed with jabs and tests all day long. To bring joy to these children Nanhi Jaan has made an endeavour by launching its Mobile Library Project at APC PGI. Volunteers go around to wards issuing story books to admitted children free of cost. The smiles show that it certainly makes a difference.

Lohri celebrations with Masol children

On 13 January 2018 Team Nanhi Jaan celebrated Lohri with under-privileged children of Masol village, located near Chandigarh. Children were treated to lots of games, bonfire, rewari, peanuts etc. May the Lohri fire burn the miseries of the residents of this village.
